The Conclave

Pratidin Media Group organised The Conclave 2022, the inaugural edition of its annual flagship event, in New Delhi to bring Northeast India into the national spotlight. The event brought together policymakers, thought leaders, and stakeholders to discuss key issues impacting the region, making Pratidin the first media house from the Northeast to host such a conclave in the national capital. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the event as the Guest of Honour.

Building on its impactful debut, The Conclave 2023 was inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The edition featured a diverse panel of ministers, bureaucrats, journalists, activists, and industry experts who explored pressing topics such as regional identity and nationalism, the future of Assam’s tea industry, sustainable tourism, energy security, deforestation, industrial growth, and the strategic importance of the Brahmaputra in the context of India’s Act East Policy.

The Conclave 2024, organised by Pratidin Media Network, was held on 5–6 October 2024 at The Ashok, New Delhi, and commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, in the presence of Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal. The event opened with a welcome address by Sadin-Pratidin Group owner Shri Jayanta Baruah, followed by inaugural remarks from the dignitaries, who highlighted the cultural and strategic importance of Northeast India, recognised Assamese as a classical language, and emphasised the role of responsible journalism. Over two days, the conclave hosted insightful discussions on key regional and national issues, reaffirming its position as a premier platform for dialogue and policy discourse.

Like its previous editions, The Conclave 2025 commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, inaugurated by the Chief Guest, renowned spiritual leader Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, at The Ashok, New Delhi, on 14 September 2025. Held over two days, on 14–15 September, the conclave brought together distinguished policymakers, thought leaders, academicians, industry experts, and public figures for meaningful dialogue on issues of regional significance and national importance. Following the inaugural ceremony, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar delivered the opening address, setting the tone for insightful discussions, debates, and exchanges of ideas that explored a wide range of subjects, highlighting the aspirations and challenges of the Northeast while placing them within the broader framework of India’s development and national discourse. The Conclave 2025 concluded on 15 September with a captivating musical performance, bringing the landmark gathering to a memorable close.
