Pratidin Media Group organised ‘The Conclave 2022’ the inaugural edition of the annual event in New Delhi to bring Northeast India in the spotlight by bringing together stakeholders and policymakers to discuss various issues for a more inclusive development of the region. In the process, Pratidin Media Group became the first media house from the Northeast region to arrange an event of such kind in the power corridors of the national capital.
Union Minister for Defense, Shri Rajnath Singh attended the event as the guest of honour in 2022 while the 2023 edition was inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Several significant topics such as – regionalism about nationalism, the tea industry of Assam and its future, sustainable tourism in the northeast and ways for expansion, energy security to deforestation and industrialisation, and the mighty Brahmaputra and the approach to utilise it to the fullest in the backdrop of Act East Policy, were discussed in the recently held conclave.
The Conclave 2023, the second edition of the annual event organized by Asomiya Pratidin and Pratidin Time in association with Dalmia Cements and powered by SBI, DIPR, and NRL, took place on September 23 at The Ashok, New Delhi.
The event brought together prominent figures from politics, business, sports, arts, science, and activism, addressing key topics such as climate change, sustainable development, the future of regional entertainment, and Northeast India’s sporting aspirations. Discussions also touched on safeguarding child rights and India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Sadin-Pratidin Group Chairman Shri Jayanta Baruah delivered the welcome note, followed by sessions featuring BJP MP Shri Tejasvi Surya and a panel on “Climate Change and Sustainable Development” with Prof. Santonu Goswami, Smt. Shweta Mahanta, Dr. Purnima Devi Barman, and Shri Jadav Payeng.
Renowned personalities such as Bollywood singer Shri Angaraag Papon Mahanta, actress Smt. Seema Biswas, director Shri Jahnu Barua, and filmmaker Shri Imtiaz Ali participated in various sessions throughout the day, making it a dynamic and insightful event.
